My work is influenced by my experiences with and responses to the natural world. I am drawn in by patterns, shapes, shadows, reflections, textures, colors, beauty and decay. I hope that the way I interpret these moments resonates with those who see my work and creates a response and connection for them.
I work in different mediums - monotype and other printmaking, painting, and mixed-media. I love how pieces can be a simple, stripped-down image or made from building multiple layers of color and shapes and textures. The freedom of that flexibility lends itself to my approach, where a work can be minimal or rich with many dimensions and there is an unpredictability to each piece.
Nature makes me happy. It makes me feel satisfied and full. It makes me think: think about how awesome it is; how it changes over the course of a day and a year; how it varies by seasons; how we need to protect it. Nature is always different, always surprising, and always an inspiration for creative endeavors.
